Squibb, thanks for the input ::008:: Does it upright, and leaned over, running RP4 Trails, cannot remember how long it's been doing it, but only slightly, then went to new pads and HOLY COW!! The shudder under light braking freaked me out, that's when I looked into it deeper. CW, please move this to my post about fork leg vibration if you wish
Are you sure you haven't picked up some contaminant from either the road, or your bike?

I had a buddy with a leaky left fork seal on his Suzuki which he hadn't spotted when in its early stages. When he parked up on the sidestand, a few drops of fork oil would drip down onto the left front disc & found it's way into the pad material. The brakes turned to crap, pretty much as you report, but only one side. RHS was fine. Solution pretty obvious - new seals both sides for good measure, clean up the disc with brake cleaner & install new pads. All a bit of a bind, but with the bike under warranty, he had to get firm with the dealer who kept claiming they could see/feel nothing wrong.

I've seen issues with corroded sticking caliper pistons, as well as leaking piston seals, but I think you would have spotted this when pushing back the pistons to make room for the new pads. One final thought is the ABS system - could the pad change have led to old/dirty fluid being pushed back up the system. Is the reluctor ring clean, with each window/space open & no contamination on the sensor. I would have thought any malfunction would have brought on the light, but I did experience dirt on the reluctor once, which only created a pulsing shudder & didn't show any light for some reason. Strangley it only showed itself up to about 25 mph - above that the brakes worked perfectly.

Hope you can get things sorted .................... KEN

Had these made for the TT accessory bar, not too bothered about the finish but I might have them anodised at some point...

I'm still looking for someone to fab a replacement lid for one of my panniers. I'm having a hard time finding a decent shop that doesn't want to charge me more than I originally paid for the bags!

Changed the oil and filter @ 4,356 miles. Added 3.5 quarts of Yamalube 10w 40.

I have the same out of production Muffintops so am following how this goes for you.

Who here could weld a simple aluminum lid? I think the aluminum was either .063 or .080.

My other thought with this was to find all the materials myself (I can handle the cutting, but don't have a sheetmetal brake or TIG welder), and do what I could. Other option is to find a local junior college to see if they would fab it, or enroll in a welding class to do it myself!

Either way, I will be adding a short length of aircraft cable to each box to retain the lids...

Fitted the Altrider Crash Bars black powder coated to my 2015 ES. They look great on the bike and should give it great protection.

Today I rode my Supertenere to a nearby dealer and part exchanged it for a Triumph Rocket 3 Touring ! I guess that's my way of saying I'll not be around here to often. ::021::

Took a 150 mile ride yesterday and noticed that it was due for yet another oil change. Got home and changed the oil and final drive. I do have to say the Touratech brake extension has been a great addition. Should have done it when I bought the bike.

My front tyre is 2k miles old, so it's not that in my case! I also put new pads in mine and that made it much worse, switched back out to old pads and vibration is minimal, could just be a case of old pads already bedded in, but hopefully get my seals this week and replace them...............
Well I fitted new tires, they were due anyway, and the issue with the brake pulsation remains. I have a new appointment for Thursday now. When I picked up the bike the service writer said he could feel the pulsation, now when I talked to them they are saying they were unable to re-create the issue. Definitely feeling a runaround coming on.

If I ever get to where I want a cruiser this would be on my short list. Cool looking machines.
