Put Pro Grip 714 Dual Sport Grips OVER the stock heated grips! The tests seems very promising, better vibration-damping and ergos then the grip-puppies.
How they hold up and let heat through, time will tell. I am now very VERY close to the perfect bike, maybe some subtle tweak on the Rox anti-vibration riser's torque.... ::012::

I also recently switched handlebars to the SW Motech non-shock bars.

Went out with new member Cmann and found some new stuff. The tenere WILL go up a trail filled with pointy bowling balls! No pics of that section as I was too concerned with keeping the rubber side down. Seat cover extrication was required at the top. ??? Met up with Yamaguy55 after lunch. All in all a good day, gained more confidence in the bike and myself.

Got the clearance to ride from my orthopedist on Tuesday afternoon and took a short ride Wednesday for my birthday. Today I rode CA 245 to Mountain House, a superb piece of pavement with all manner of twisties. After a short rest, took Dry Creek back down to 198. Dry Creek is goaty at the top, and just generally narrow and twisty. Then I took a left and rode up to meet my wife in Three Rivers for ice cream. I saw intake temps from 108*-122*. Great ride, but it's nice to be home under the air conditioner.

Nittany, that rocks! Glad you got to do some new challenges and learn the S10 is a great off road bike. Just keep looking long and don't look at those pointy bowling balls, keep a good clutch/throttle/break combo, and remember to breath and you will be fine. If not, the bikes are pretty easy to fix!

Midlife. I had to breathe so i could keep saying "OH,@#$%, what did I get into!" :))
Funny! Great Pic too.

But it was great, yea? Big-Bike-Dirt is so different than dirt-bike-dirt, if that is ok to say.

So, forgive me, but is yours the one with the TIRES? Or were you doing Big-Bike-Dirt on the Big Bike that just has tires. :)

That could be fun mounted in front of a camera of your choice.

Yesterday was my first longer ride since I started experiencing vertigo. Started with a motorcycle swap meet and found nothing. Decided to ride to Copperopolis CA. Did not have a tinted visor, SPOT, water, phone charger, and only a couple gallons of gas, plus it was going to be 100+. Good day for riding. Headed towards the gold country. The roller coaster was first and surprisingly the vertigo under control. Decided to ride dirt gravel rocky road section. The K60's worked well as I was crawling through a road that can be ridden much faster. Stopped after a mile (dah!) and switched to TC2 and the chattering stopped. The 600 pound Tenere impresses off-road. Enjoyed the rest of the ride. Was impressed with the small town of Copperopolis. A business as old as 1862 and a new Town Square built in 2008. Found a house for sale for $669K and another for $89K. Met a few locals and seen maybe ten ten motorcycles in the town square. I will be back. There were other roads I wanted to explore but time and 100* temps sent me home. Speaking of 100* temps I got behind on drinking water and ended up enjoying cold water and air conditioning at the Chevron in Ione. Stayed about 45 minutes. On the way home I stopped at Taqueria Taco Loco for very good fish tacos. Had a good day on my Tenere.

I just received my service manual (WOW--$100+) so I started experimenting with removing fairings and discovering where things are located. I was a bit disappointed in the service manual with regard to front and rear wheel removal. I have done enough of that thing to understand the a few of the detail steps I believe are left out. For example with the front wheel removal. My manual has three steps. Basically, (1) put bike on center stand; (2) remove front brake calipers; and (3) elevate front wheel. OK, what about lossening the pinch bolts, the axle bolt and then evevating so the wheel can be removed?

Enough of my soap box. But that's what I did today--remove plastic, the rear seat and additional carrier, reinstall same and other service manual investigations.

Works as advertised
Very interesting. Had a couple of incidents where someone almost slammed into my rear end. This would have been very handy. Did you order it from Europe?
