Ok, so a little misleading, just got a call from the wife who landed at JFK for a meeting in the regional offices in NJ, was told she should either take a limo or a taxi to the hotel near the office, about 60-70 minutes, not far but slow, so gets in the taxi and asked for a quote as the driver seemed to question her, was told, "no problem, that will be $358". What?? She promptly calls the limo company and the say $170, so she's in the airport waiting for the limo to arrive. My question is this, why do the taxi drivers claim poverty when this is the going rate (was confirmed by the cab company, as she had to pay for the cab going AND coming back)?
When she told me I asked if it was a helicopter ride and not a taxi, plus a few f's thrown in for good measure.
And I thought the Swiss were expensive, at least it's in line with the cost of living here. Ok, rant over.
