Good call on waiting, like most things this is an impulse buy as I really dont need it per se...

As for the VStrom - yup, it gets traded. No room for two bikes.

What are they offering you on the Strom?

Anything over 1k miles seem high for a demo, maybe not, don’t see many around here.

BTW, $12500 for a new 2017ES sound like a good deal??
Wow, that’s a hellava deal.

Good, cause I bought it, proper intro with better pics later.

(Apologize for the off-topic)

Like the others, I too would stick with a new '17; also preferably an ES. The amount of mile would not concern me as much as what KIND of miles. You advised that there was evidence of at least one "go-down". I don't like to part with, or waste my money. I would, and did, wait and save up for the one I REALLY wanted. Good luck. ::001::

Here in CT. dealers often offer a bike to employees as part of their salary. The few guys I know were often not nice to their loaner machines.

A lot of floggin can happen in 9000 miles. The local shop boys here flog every used bike that comes in the shop. Thats why I have to drive a 100 miles to get a bike. If you have a good local dealer. You are lucky.

As EricV and Ramseybella noted, the only way to get that high of mileage as a demo is likely going to be either used on the factory demo trucks or one of the Yamaha corporate employee bikes. We've had both on the forum, including some of the employees as members. No dealer is going to keep a "demo" for 9,000 miles, as it would be too expensive for the dealership.

I'd look closely at the service records and kinda doubt that there'd be a problem.
