What is with all of the recent spam?

I've noticed a lot of spam posts recently on the forum. Is there anyway to prevent this from becoming a bigger problem?

And although that little BLAST they dealt with yesterday was visible, for the other 99.9% of the last 2 years I've visited this forum daily, it has been squeaky clean for me.

I happen to know what they are up against. It's 24\7. And Global. Even while you sleep.

Might be time for captcha, or even better, honeypot. Bots are good enough to parse the registration verification questions currently in place. ::008::

I always felt this site was relatively Spam free...


Another site limited new memebers to post three times in a designated area before full access to the site...was a pain for some people but it stopped the bots....

I removed about 10 topics yesterday. I also go in and delete their accounts so it's not quite as easy to just come back and keep spamming. I'm going to send Chris (Venture) a personal email this morning and let him know. Don't know if there's much he can do about it or not. Hopefully, these individuals will tired of it and move on. We'll see. Just keep letting us know when you find it. Thanks. R ::003::

It's been almost too hot to ride here. Damn. I just heard from Venture, and yeah, can only do so much. So just keep reporting them and we'll keep nukin' 'em. I wouldn't respond to any of them, which none of you have, as that would just encourage them. I remove the topic, and then I go and delete their account, so at least they have to go through the whole sign-up process to have another go at it. That will likely get tiresome for them. I certainly don't mind nukin' them. As soon as I get an email from one of you, I immediately deal with it. A guy's gotta have a little fun. Thanks for keeping an eye on things. R ::020::
