The BB's are a little slower than the BL's.

Some nit at Yamaha may've ordered more blue paint than the other colors when the bikes were planned and the blues may have grander talk.

But note that the black BB was the bike Cycle World chose to put on the cover of the February 2012 magazine. And which got the last words of their article.

Has it been documented anywhere the exact differences in the CA model? I'm sure it's EPA stuff but how much?

Dave, I have an Oregon model and have ridden with a Ca model. No noticeable difference in performance. That of course, does not answer your question.... ::025::

Offer still stands for a ride when I can get some &*%$#*!!! time off.....

A charcoal cannister. Well, that and a couple pieces of tubing, etc. and a different throttle body. The only difference here is the addition of a nipple to draw the vapors from the cannister. There is no difference in electronics, mapping, or otherwise.

Truth is with boat sales down Yamaha started using leftover white hull paint on Euro bikes just to get rid of it.

So really you poor color blind Euros got a boat. ;)

The California ones probably get worse fuel mileage. But they burn cleaner! Hmmmmm, I wonder what the pollution tradeoff is when we burn more fuel, but create fewer emissions. I bet it's a wash, but I get to pay higher gas prices for the privilege. ::009::
