Made my own out of the original Yam silencer, sounds great, bike performs well and nothing melts!

I cut the exhaust (output) end of the can off, removed some of the inner piping, got a mate to weld the end back on again and painted over the scar.

Looks bog standard until I start it and pull away.

I might have some photos if interested, PM me with an email and I'll send them over.

Fitting Arrow Headers made mine noticeably louder with a much deeper tone, my main worry is changing the end can will make it very loud, especially if people find some cans are too loud with the stock headers which are very bunged up with the Cat - in fact I would have thought these would do most of the noise reduction.

On the plus side the ugly stock can is hidden so replacing it would not add much to looks or power, my main reason for change is so I can put the OE can away somewhere with the OE headers so if I ever replace the bike I can put on a really nice clean exhaust system - in my experience OE exhausts tend to look poor quite quickly at best and rot before your eyes at worst.

Arrow all the way here, just the can alone gives the placebo effect of more power. The headers are going on next week and then it's flash time for the ECU can't wait!

Stainless Motad, from motad direct £80, not loud but it can give off a nice snap crackle & pop. Just wanted one that enabled the blind muppets in cars to know i was there without being too loud as when touring they can get on yer tits a bit.

I got the Akra. It wasn't cheap but I've had a few and the quality is outstanding. Good power boost, reasonable sound level and never needs repacking.

I've looked at Motad too. They seem very well priced and British made in the Midlands. Is yours a Venom model? What's the quality and sound like compared to OEM? easy fitting etc etc?
thanks

Hi. I contacted Motad and they say they don't make a silencer for the S10?
Strange. Can you let us know details as per my last post?
Thanks

Yes no problems, I still have the box from Motad so there should be a part number on the box. Did the guy you spoke to state that they dont make one or they no longer make one? They obviously have made one in the past as its fitted to my bike & i collected it from there factory.

Thanks. Could you let me have the part number? I'm passing Walsall on Monday afternoon so may pay them a visit. The reply on email was simply they "don't cover the 1200 unfortunately"? Strange eh? Could you let me know how the motad sounds over stock quality etc? thanks.

You may want to look at these, very similar to the Motad units...
