Looking at the interest in having a Rally/Get Together in September at Manchester Beach KOA in (DUH) Manchester, CA. I've thrown together a couple of sidecar rally's there and they're very accomidating to bikes. There are LOTS of way cool rides nearby, a store on site with beer and ice, a very good grocery store .7 miles away, cabins and lodges (for us old creaky guys) and tent spaces that are quite nice. If we have enough people, tent spaces are $9. There are SERIOUS local twisty roads, several dirt roads, and lots of neato things to see. (Pt Arena Lighthouse, Mendocino, Anderson Valley, Fish Rock Rd, Lost Coast, Redwoods, Ft Bragg...(North Coast Brewery... ::024::)Booneville.....Tim, do your Magic Google Shit here.... ::025::) Who, if anyone, might be interested??

BTW, thinking about the 2nd or 3rd weekend in Sept. Weather (on the California coast) is just about perfect then. Fog is gone, (usually) and days are warm and sunny, nights cool and clear ( I hope).

Let me know.

BTW, IF I put this on, there are NO T-shirts, NO stickers and NO whining. YOU are responsible for any and all reservations. I will do the ground work as far as setting it up with the KOA. If someone wants to cover the 1st 2, knock yourself out. It would be appreciated by all....but I ain't gonna do it. I am lazy and do not need extra hassles in life. I just want to get together with like minded folks and have a good time.

Just don't do it on the last full weekend of September. That's reserved every year for my annual motorcycle trip to Torrey, UT.

Oh, if we get enough people, I'll see about getting us some shirts!!!!

Mike are you going to combine all the threads into one? Just a thought for ease of sharing information.

This Rally / Get Together is going to be fun.

I put one where the Oregon/Idaho/Washington guys could see it as well as the California/Nev/etc. Thought it might get more exposure/participants that way. ::019::

This is a good idea for the Californians. Wish it was a bit more northern. We will have to do something like this up here in the PNW!!!

I'm interested in this.

The dates coincide with my normal vacation time. ::018::

I have family up in Fort Bragg, and was planning on heading up some time in September. I'm open to either time frame, just would like to know as soon as feasible so plans can be made.

This is the problem with starting two threads on the same subject...

For the most part, I think people in nearby regions will monitor events that they have an interest in attending WITHOUT duplicate threads.

I know that part. It is having the time off. I only get 2 lousy measly weeks vacation. One this year is with dad and brother to do the Washington BackCountry Discovery route week of July 4th, and the other is to go visit parents in August in Northern Michigan at the lake!!! Wife likes this part!!!! I can only swing long weekend here or there to call in sick.

Hey I ride boring slow. That was a little inspiration for you to join the fun in a very beautiful area of California. Hopefully I will see you and other PNW'rs in June for a small gathering.

We 'camped' an easy walk up the street from the Brewing Company this past Fall. Good eats, great sampler platter of brews. Is that a shot of the KOA? Looks like a nice place. I've never been to one with mature trees in it.

Exploring via Google Maps I discovered an off-road adventure, Old Red Rock Place. Map at 50%, Ocean Ridge Airport, due East 2.5 inches. It looks to be accessible (all dirt) off of S Fork (road). Tried to map the route with no luck. Old Red Rock Place is inland from Anchor Bay, Sea Ranch, and Annapolis.

Yep, shot of the KOA. Tent area is behind the cabins in "the loop". Lottsa big trees with good wind protection (if there's wind....)
