I took mine for some exercise yesterday.
Yup, these Firestars do shoot nice!
Also brought along my .40S&W Beretta and my 10mm 1911..........
Was a nice outing to the Range. I was the only person in there for about an hour, till someone else arrived just before I left.

Now I have more cleaning to do!

Doesn't even look used at all.
I bought it used off a local gun forum, it was listed a long time with no interest because it didn't have the required local ten round magazines, so had to be sold "without mags." I can't recall what we paid for it, but it was a good deal. The seller disassembled the magazines and handed them to me after the purchase....magazine parts are legal or were or whatever. I can't keep up on how all the laws work/worked. We did get a ten round magazine later just to be compliant. I can't remember if he was the original owner, but it was in almost perfect condition when we got it.

We ran a few hundred rounds through it and it got my wife interested in hand guns. There's a small scratch on it, likely we did that. Otherwise, yes, it's in overall nice shape and I can't see any reason not to hold onto it. It's likely not worth a lot so just having it as a good functional tool is worth more than the dollars.

Look what the cat dragged in!

A British 12GA double barrel underlever. Beautiful condition and very neat engraving. Because it is BP I don’t need a permit for it, nor keep it in the safe. Only the ammunition is restricted, so I’ll start the process of filing for that soon. Happy me!

I’ve asked two gentleman on 2 different occasions about it last weekend and they both guess it to be between 1890&1910. When googling it that ads up. I learned that i can send an email to the Royal Armory in Leeds (UK) because they have all the documentation from G.E.Lewis. Costs a tenner i believe and they’ll tell you anything they can find. Maybe I’ll do that.
I did eventually send an email to the Royal Armories in Leeds and got a reply from the most helpful librarian. He went to great extent to find anything about my gun that he could. I even got a high resolution scan of the original registration, in the day book, from the gun including the name and adres of the man who brought it in.
Apparently these barrels and this action combination are from 26 aug 1897. Yes it got new factory barrels then. It doesn’t say why. The action part is older with an extremely early serial number. The factory didn’t even record the numbers in those days and didn’t sell them in sequential order. That serial number is #1296. Great to have some documented history with it.

Very cool to have that history

My latest acquisition. They've been on backorder for months but are now becoming available. It's the Ruger LCP carbine chambered in .45acp. So, now I will have a rifle that uses pistol rounds to go along with my pistol that uses rifle rounds. The carbine comes threaded for a suppressor, folding stock, flip-up sights, and it uses Glock magazines. So, with a Glock style mag that holds 26rds, it will be like a modern version of the Tommy Gun, but only semi-auto.

Sorry Matt but that went into the political.

I don’t think it should have gone there…
We’re talking about noise makers and there’s a lot of things we can’t have. I think it’s worth mentioning if there’s someone in the forum who wants to potentially move here but retain ownership of their collection.

Your post wasn't technically in violation but I see why Checkswrecks was heading things off at the the pass. For instance, I was pounding away on the keyboard in reply to your post telling you to get the hell out of that communist dictatorship you live in and move to the Land of the Free.....when I stopped and deleted my post knowing that it would get whacked for being political.

BTW: I'm expecting this post to get chopped due to passive-aggressive content. ;)

I’ve seriously thought about it!
I was going to make a joke about ways to get to the USA but that becomes political

On the brighter side, I have a pistol competition coming up… I just need to find a clear table in which I can double check the guns before heading out.

I know people will scoff at this but I firmly believe that 10m air pistol is excellent a developing a steady hand for the larger calibres.

I'll ass-ume that you meant 10 millimeter and not 10 meter? :D
Nope… air pistol matches are over 10 metres.
It’s hard to get a good score (well, it is when you shoot as bad as I do )
Controlling the air pistol is bloody hard!

Then again, if you look at air rifle in the Olympics, the X ring is now 0.5mm and the competition is so tough they need to score it as 10.0 through 10.9
You can effectively get better than the 600 perfect score!

.5mm = about 20 thou of an inch.
No bull !

I should qualify this as I do multiple calibres in order to keep my eye in as ammo is super expensive now and there’s been almost no small pistol primers or pistol powder here since mid COVID.
I do all my own reloads for centrefire.

Had some fun with my Walther .22LR. My go to ammo was giving trouble cycling the gun, not feeding properly or not extracting. Power output felt very inconsistent so figured it must be the ammo since my guns are always clean enough to function properly. The RWS high velocity HP shoots very consistent and gun runs flawlessly. Guess I got a new go to..
