Water Under A Stick Coil

While removing my plugs in prep for a valve check I found this in the number one cylinder, outboard plug:

Appears the plug well had water in it at some point. I believe the white line is from mineral deposits at the high water mark. When looking down at the top of the valve cover after removing all the stick coils, the suspect spark plug well was the only one without an area of clean surface around the hole. The plugs have never been removed before. I can only assume the stick coil was not properly seated at the factory. The sealing flange at the top of the coil had no obvious faults. The bike is a 2012 with 19,000 miles and it was running perfectly before the teardown. I do not use a power washer; bike has not done any water crossing.

A number of people have found similar. Some dielectric grease on the seal can't hurt.

Very common with this one plug. I was concerned as well, but was relieved to know from this forum that this is not an unusual occurrence.

Wonder if spraying the plug with some ACF-50 before installation would be a good idea?

They make an anti corrosion grease with similar properties that might be the answer

Question for those who have noticed this issue, do you primarily park on the side stand or center stand? When I checked my plugs a few months ago, I had no corrosion whatsoever, and I almost always park on the center stand.

Using anti corrosive substances and avoiding the side stand are not solutions. Getting a proper seal on the stick coil is the solution.

I agree, I was just wondering about causality. In addition, my bike has spent the majority of it's life in Phoenix and Las Vegas, so humidity could potentially be a factor as well.
