Hello-
If anyone has Yamaha luggage lock cylinders they will not be using, I would be interested in them. These are the locks included with the bike when new, intended for the factory luggage. If you have aftermarket luggage and no use for them, please let me know.
Thanks, and happy riding. ::021::

I do, but thought they were keyed to the ignition.

Troll-
They are keyed to the ignition, but I plan on re-keying them to match my ignition key. I have a few leftover lock pins from other Yamaha locks, so I shouldn't have much trouble.
Can I talk you out of your locks if you won't be using them?

That Troll... he's such a troll sometimes. You can have mine if I can find them. I'll go have a look when it turns light around here. Couple of hours. R

If the Yukon boys can't help you, I have my 3 locks and no plans on using them.

Ivan-
I think I have a plan worked out with the Yukon offers. Your offer is appreciated, I will let you know if I end up needing it.

K. Let me know if you need mine. It's not like we live that far apart. Meet in the middle and save shipping... or something like that.

Thank you for the offer, Troll and Rem sent their locks my way earlier this week, so I have all the pieces I should need.
Hope to get the aftermarket luggage modified shortly to work with the ignition key.

Yep, they're in the mail. I posted them off on Monday I think. Follow up with some pics and all that. R

If it's not too terribly complex, can you post a guide in the technical section on how to use pins to match cylinder to key? I have to admit I'm totally ignorant on the subject.

I believe them to be similar to the Givi locks, which I have re-keyed several. I followed the pictures and step by step instructions posted over n ADVrider. The guy there had re-keyed his Givi bags to match his ignition key.

Tremor-
Here is a guide with photos on an R6 forum, your Tenere lock cylinders will have the exact same pins/tumblers. Yamaha has used them since the 70s.

http://www.r6messagenet.com/forums/r6-how-guides/49498-how-re-key-new-seat-lock-assembly-use-your-old-key.html

He is replacing the lock, and reusing the same set of tumblers, but the idea is the same for re-keying. Match up tumblers to fit your key, and the lock can spin. Let me know if you need more.
I honestly haven't made any progress on my luggage lock swap, too many other projects.

Hi guys, I'm going to piggyback on this thread since I'm also after a set of locks, or indeed just one spare lock if anyone has one? My situation is that I bought a near new S10 over in OZ, which came fitted with all the OEM accessories with the exception of the screen which is a MRA, and the rear mounted topbox.

The previous owner of the S10 bought the bike with the factory OEM side cases fitted, and he never got the extra (third) lock which would have remained outstanding from the set of three (included in the storage space under the seat). I'm looking to buy the OEM topbox and would like to get myself the third lock and key it alike with the others.
I appreciate that I'm based in China working here, and yes, I bought the S10 in OZ (Australia)... I don't plan to be in China for ever.

If any one of you lurkers or inmates (OZ, USA or UK) has a spare lock or even the set and no need for them, then I can supply addresses locally in any one of 3 countries (OZ, USA or UK) where the locks can be sent. The close friends at each of the 3 local addresses already collect & send items over to China for me and some mates here and would happily receive the lock(s) and forward onto me here in China.

Cheers for any willing donators...
