I am hoping someone that has had their S10 Forks upgraded by Ohlins (as this removes the OEM Fork Top Caps) will sell me either one or both of the Front Fork Top Caps that came off their bike during the Ohlins upgrade.

OR

If someone has a set of forks that perhaps are off a damaged S10 that I can buy a Top Cap from. I only need one. The company that did my recent suspension "upgrade" managed to damage the top hex surface of my current Top Caps. Still useable but it annoys me to look at :-[

I have a set of UniFilter Foam Airfilters (The one's that are standard on the Australian S10's) that came off my bike when new that I'd be prepared to put into the trade.

No need to trade me anything. I'm a happy Tenere rider with parts laying around doing nobody any good.

Be happy to send you a cap. (I have the Ohlins)

Bet it isn't to cheap to ship though. Tell me how\when\where.

What part of Oz?

I'm very grateful and willing to cover more than any cost of postage or to send anything from Australia you may want in exchange. I'll PM my address to you. I can organise a deposit to you via PayPal or direct to a bank if you would like to PM me whatever works for you. Or if there's a way I can pay for postage etc via the Internet that you know of?

Thanks again.

Got your pm partner.

I'll ship it this week and let you know the cost.
Do you (or anybody) already know if postal service vs UPS (or some other shipper) is the best route?

Obviously weight and size are minimal.

Oh, and since you can't ship what I would really like from Oz, I'll let you know if I ever make it back over.

I would like the Scotsman's Filet with pepper gravy at the pub in Corryong. (at the Mountainview Motel)
Quaint little place with a fine cut of meat and chickensalt on the fries. Fantastic! Both were firsts for me. Ordered by a gent I met in town on a Guzzi.
And the town is the gateway to some magnificent roads through the Alpines. Also fantastic.

Dang. Great memories. :)

USPS works fine also. I've had plenty of stuff delivered via USPS, it then usually makes its way through the Australia Post system which is reliable and not priced over the top. UPS is quicker but more expensive.

But whatever is the easiest. I'm in no rush.

Disassembled and ready to pack up.

Not 100% flawless. But nothing a few seconds polishing won't fix.
How bad was your nicked up?

Here's the handywork of the fella who did my suspension work. Some might think I'm a little pedantic about a dual sport bike, but I'd just paid $1,000 dollars and got work back like this. They also did some more of the same on one of the calliper bolts, ABS line bracket that they bent the locking tab on and then also lower fork leg casting that that bracket attaches to. I should have taken the forks and shock off myself and taken them in. Lesson learnt. Only damage I'm OK with is in the due course of riding.

Your generosity will al least mean I don't have a reminder of poor workmanship staring at me every ride.

Wow. They need new tools. Kind of hard to believe they would be so haphazard with the shiny bits.

I had to look at the pic 3 times to figure out what was even wrong! You guys are very particular.

I do agree the shop should own up to it, but those caps are SUPER soft aluminum and it is very easy to knock the corner off just as they did. You should see my fork caps from multiple overhauls!

maybe your right. I was taught my trade in the military where I learnt to expect nothing less than perfect or not far behind.

By the way the two pictures are not of the same side. And yeh your right the stuff is like cheese to work with but these guys are the busiest suspension shop in the country. I would expect they could do better working with these parts every day.

The one I sent was wrenched on a few times. And I don't have Snap-On tools. But I still didn't round or nick them. I was just careful.
I don't think that is too much to expect from a professional.

Now if this was a race bike getting tweaked every weekend between track condition changes, that would be different.

I'll be honest, it wouldn't\doesn't bother me as much as it does you. But the fact that it bothers you doesn't bother me either. ::013::
Besides, mine are just sitting in a box doing nothing. So no worries.

People helping people - it's powerful stuff. Never seen The Dude ever get too riled up either, even when I know he doesn't agree with everything around here. Hope we can have a cigar 'round the fire in Colorado.

I just know how to light it and then puff in and out. I have no idea what the label is supposed to say.

Kinda like scotch. I rarely drink. But I know when it tastes good to me. :)

Ouray KOA. Nice Fire. A scotch and a cigar. And a bunch of you lunatics.

Should be memorable.
