Rode the Washington Back Country Discovery Route, Section 3, today.

280 miles round trip total, 60 miles on dirt. I started south (Ellensberg) and headed north (Wenatchee/Cashmere)

Good ride - the route has a selection of forest roads, rough rocky roads, soft & loose dirt, gravel, ruts. Not overly hard for any rider - the S10 soaks it up with ease ... and if your're a casual ADV rider, you simply take a little longer.

Mind you, exiting at Wenatchee/Cashmere this time of year is pretty hot - 90/100 F around midday onwards ... take plenty of water.

Good ride - highly recommended for fellow Adventurers.

Ellensberg Wind Farm in the background

Easy start forest roads ...

Mt Rainier in the distance ...

These are my waypoints ... the WABDR file contains 418 waypoints for section 3, which my Garmin cannot download for 1 route.

Cutting it down, my file contains 33 waypoints which are sufficent (see attached txt file) ... import into your favorite map creator for uploading to your GPS.

Didnt see the fallen tree ... took Beehive down into Wentachee, but the "actual" route (ie what I downloaded from WABDR) showed going into Cashmere from Mission Creek Rd ... problem was, that road was closed ... no idea why ...

Good ride nevertheless, kinda took some of the route I had previously taken from Mineral Springs.

About 5 of us hoping to do the whole route in Sept. We will ride from Calgary to Portland in 2 days then if all goes well do the 6 day ride. Looks a little nasty in spots for big duallies but we all have extensive off road abilities so should be OK, again hopefully. Anyone who has done the whole route would be cool to hear from. Please chime in. ::001::
