Anyone want to meet up for a ride around the area? I will be leaving the Seattle area heading east Thursday evening the 15th. I am thinking I may want to head towards YellowSTone or something. As much as I would like, I would like to mix some forest service roads, but sketchy if I am solo. Then will stick mostly to roads.

Any takers?????

We went through Yellowstone on our way to WeSTOC in Moscow ID the end of August last year. Hit snow, rain and hail all in the same day.

:)

Jeff, I am interested though it depends on whether I get selected for jury duty on September 12th. I have plans on visiting friends that live at Saint Edward SP so I can be in the area.

So what is the good "week of the year" to visit Yellowstone? :-\

Sounds like a long day! I'll be up that way in about 2 weeks. Crossing my fingers for no snow or hail. Rain is to be expected.

I was planning a ride to Tumwater to visit Gerbins in mid to late September and then running north and east and finally back south to Nevada. Don't know if I can leave that early but will keep in touch if I can. Did the Yellowstone/Glacier/Mt. St. Helens circle years ago and rode most of the way in rain as a solo rider. Fun, but still solo.

Spent my honeymoon there the first week in Oct. Snow daily but I have also been there when it was high 20s in the morning and 70s in the afternoon. Heavily influenced by weather and time of day but you bought an adventure tourer didn't you?

Jim, thanks for the heads up. I will talk to him.
My thoughts at this time were to head down towards Pullman, and take rt 12 east through Idaho and over Lolo pass. I wanted to try to get to Yakima after I get off work Thursday. That way we are further ahead for Friday in hopes of getting to West YellowSTone for the evening. This gives us Sat and part of Sunday in Y'STone.
What do you think of this?

For those thinking of maybe joining in on a few days of riding the Pacific NW and into Idaho and YellowSTone. I have one other comfirmed to ride this trip on his new Tenere. Anyone who has made mention of joining, feel free to call me 419-344-4975 (cell).

Here are some rough plans
Thursday Evening Yakima WA
Friday : Ride through Western WA and catching RT 12 on into Idaho and Lolo Pass into Missoula. We will head to either West YellowSTone or the North Entrance area for the evening.
Saturday: Ride YellowSTone and enjoy the scenery for scenery sake and pictures
Sunday: Finish up YellowSTone and meander back towards RT 12 Westward back towards Idaho and WA.
Monday: Finish up WA and maybe Ride over Chinook or Cayuse Pass Towards Mt Rainier

I'm subscribed to this thread and will try to meet the group somewhere. Possibly in West as that is a really good day ride from here. But I am flexible while watching the weather. Is this a motel or camping group?

Well, I amm heading out this coming Thursday eve after work to head east to Richland, WA for the evening. From there rt 12 into ID to Lolo pass. The weather isn't looking too good to make it all way to YellowSTone, like 20's at night ant thunderstorms. Look to be in Missoula Fri night.
