We get a lot of questions from people concerned about how the ADV1's patent-pending trapezoid hinge handles downhill twisties and stops. Our Beta Tester EXTRAORDINAIRE, Tony D decided to put all speculation to an end with his new 360° camera. And Tony D being the whole-assed person that he is...he did it in grand style. He took the ADV1 to San Francisco's famed Lombard Street.

Pay attention to the silver arms the red arrows are pointing at, and also note the slope, which the yellow arrow is pointing at.

Our experience is that the motion of the arms is not detectable on our R1200GS or our Super Ténéré. Tony D says he can feel some slight motion when coming to a stop (at the end of the video). His whole-assed ass is more sensitive than mine!

After 5 years of R&D, which many of you have taken part in by filling out some surveys and giving feedback, we are finally going into production!

If you're interested, the place to check out is our Ordering page. It has tons of info and a countdown timer for when the store opens. If you refresh that page at noon on Thursday, you'll be taken to the pages to buy an ADV1.

One of the accessories Pasq is making for the ADV1 is a collapsable shelf. Here's a drawing of the shelf from underneath. You can see that there are two arms holding the shelf up. These arms rotate out of the way, allowing the shelf to fold up, flat.

Why do it with arms like this? We didn't want to have a simple cable holding up the shelf (like you see a lot in adventure trailers to be pulled behind Jeeps) because then nothing would be able to hang off the edge of the shelf, like a dry bag or something like a cooler that is just a bit wider than the shelf.

Here's what it looks like folded up:

Here's what it looks open:

Here's what it looks like carrying a suitcase:

And here's what it looks like carrying a cheeky puppy!
