'Very soon to be' new owner from Japan

Hi all,

Hello from a new member from Japan. I have been riding a Yamaha FZ1 since 2007 and was absolutely in love with it. Could do pretty much all on the bike - twisties, 220+ kmph, long distance multi-day touring etc. Honestly I still love the bike (technically it still belongs to me till this Sunday). However after 4 years and 55K kms on it I was looking for a suitable replacement. None of the street bikes were worthy replacement for my FZ plus I am neither in to super sport bikes nor hogs. That left ADV bikes, obvious options like GS1200, Tenere etc. Loving the reliability and the 'Blue' of Yamaha I traded in my FZ for the Blue and Silver S10. It arrives by end of next week hopefully.

Very glad to know that a S10 forum already exists. Loking forwards to share ride reports, expereinces with you all.

Welcome to the forum! I have a 2002 FZ1 that I really enjoy for sport riding. Like you I was interested in the ADV style bikes and was very happy to learn that Yamaha had decided to sell the Tenere in the USA. I do not have slot of miles on mine so far (1100 miles) but it is what I was hoping for and I am quite pleased with it. I think that you find this forum is a useful source of information ot only one the bike but also various modifications that folks have tried and passed on their observations on.
