No need to do anything with TRex bars to remove the battery, its a very close fit but the battery does come out or reinstall fairly easy, actually the hardest part is installing the bolts that hold the battery cables in place and be very careful not to reverse the cables like I have read about happening quite a few times on this forum.
If you replace the battery you can make life a lot simpler by getting foam earplugs and then crush it down by placing the nut and plug between thumb and forefinger and then insert both into the battery. Now the nut won't fall out and it will stay aligned!

Tires... I went to Alaska with Cycledude and I have to admit those Dunlop Trail max tires did phenomenal. So they will be more than enough for anything that you have described. Anything more I prefer the MotoZ Tractionator Adventure or GPS. GPS is a tire that will go 14,000 miles. The Tractionator is more dirt and will do 7 to 8,000. I believe the Dunlop has a better weight rating and for another 13,000 mile trip I would (plug your ears Cycledude) probably get the Max if going over just gravel like Alaska. I have T-Rex Racing Bash Plate and AltRider bars. Like them both. The T-Rex Racing Bars are much better priced. They offer good protection on tip overs... right Cycledude?
