I bought a Cyclops TPM and the instructions tell you DEATH WILL OCCUR IF YOU DON'T USE METAL VALVE STEMS!! or something like that. :rolleyes: Anyhow, anyone know what the metal equivalent to a TR412,(stock), would be?

I use metal T-Valve cores. I had a rubber valve core with a TPMS on it that started to crack and it was far gone when I found it. Reason was I wasn't changing out my cores every tire change. So, yes it can happen. I always run metal T-Valve cores now for that reason but mostly for convenience as I don't like loosening the locking nut then removing the cap and trying to fit an air chuck on it as the stem is pointing towards the hub. With T-Valve cores the TPMS is installed and only removed when the battery runs out. I adjust tire pressure by using the T facing out at a 90° angle. On the Tenere the rear tire needs no modification but the front does. I did mine with an air driven pea grinder in about 5 to 8 minutes. Stopping and checking the whole time. Soft aluminum! Then gave it a shot of black rustoleum paint.

I did hear someone from Cyclops told somebody they had to print that warning for legal purposes, and a rubber stem is perfectly fine. I was just going to get a tire changed so I thought if it wasn't too much of a hassle, I would get a metal stem installed at the same time. Grinding and filing sounds like a hassle for literally, nothing.

I had a rubber stem split on my Zx14r so I use metal stems on that. I havnt found any for the s10 yet
