I'll be due for a check in a few thousand miles. Any recommendations on a reliable mechanic in the Los Angeles area?
Good to hear I waiting for 65k to do my first checkGo see Graham at Gustin Motorsports in Costa Mesa. Both he and Eric know the Super Tenere and they are an honest service center.

Why wait to 65?Good to hear I waiting for 65k to do my first check
Because 27k is too soon and I dont ride hard. It still sounds and fine. Why wait to 65?

From what I understand those valves don't necessarily get louder as they slowly burn up. 65,000 miles seems a bit excessive for a valve service interval.Because 27k is too soon and I dont ride hard. It still sounds and fine.
Correct, normal wear is for the clearances to decrease/tighten with bucket and shim designs like our bikes. Smaller clearances tend to be quieter.IIRC they actually get *quieter* not louder as they approach being out of adjustment.
Can someone who knows the specifics comment on this? Thanks
