Valve service in Los Angeles area?

I'll be due for a check in a few thousand miles. Any recommendations on a reliable mechanic in the Los Angeles area?

I have known both Eric and Graham for close to 20 years. If I was to have major repair or service work done it would be either them or Long Mach around the corner. Long Mach has an in house dyno machine. If the same tuner works there he can set your bike up on a dyno and tune it to near perfection.

Because 27k is too soon and I dont ride hard. It still sounds and fine.

From what I understand those valves don't necessarily get louder as they slowly burn up. 65,000 miles seems a bit excessive for a valve service interval.

IIRC they actually get *quieter* not louder as they approach being out of adjustment.

Can someone who knows the specifics comment on this? Thanks

Correct, normal wear is for the clearances to decrease/tighten with bucket and shim designs like our bikes. Smaller clearances tend to be quieter.
