Just back from our UTBDR trip.

WARNING.....the recent storm activity (end of September 2014) has really messed up Lockhart Basin, it looks nothing like the videos/photos you will find online.

We holed 2 oil pans and repaired them on the trail (SW Motech skid plates suck!!!!) Rumbux survived without incident.

The final descent was treacherous to say the least. It is not possible to ride a Super Tenere down. The trail required us to slide/ skid/ fall our way down one at a time with no chance to turn back.

I would never tell someone to attempt this trail in the condition it is in.

It took us almost 2 full days to get from Monticello to Moab.

Well, colour me impressed! ::008:: My mouth was getting dry just watching you guys wrestle your bikes over some of that gnarly stuff. Best quote in the video: "I never thought I would take this pig through something like that."

Seriously, that terrain would have been challenging enough on a 250 CC dirt bike. To have done it on Super Teneres is almost beyond belief. This footage would be suitable as advertising for Yamaha. In the right hands, this is truly a go-anywhere motorcycle!

Cheers,

Bruce

Good stuff Rusty. ::026:: the holes in the oil pan was it at the lug that the skid plate bolts to because iam going to cut mine off and weld a patch over the hole. I have an Altrider skid plate and after doing the CBDR last year the plate was pushed up against the lug and the exhaust. We did have one guy blow a hole in his oil pan they ended up retrieving it with a jeep.

It was at the lug on the right side on both bikes. I'm also thinking of cutting mine off, I'm running a Rumbux and haven't broken mine yet.

Rusty, it looks like you all three just bucked up, kept on trekking and helped each other constantly. Did any of you really get to a point of "get me the hell out of here" attitude during the rock waltz? Awesome looking patience by you three.

Sweet I will ride this hopefully this summer.

Great Video and thanks for sharing.

And thank you, thank you, thank you, for not adding music to it!! I can hear the airflow, you hitting ruts and what noises the bike is making and also the noises you make or how the driving condition is effecting you as a rider. I almost can get a perspective on suspension adjustment. Almost.

Congrats Rusty, Mike and Patrick

Your ride and your video is so good.

One of the few videos to find which is really enjoyable for 53 minutes.

Really cool partnership, good vibes throughout the video.

Well done guys ::008::

Peace.
