Universal Mount Top Boxes

Im considering one of these for very iccasional use and hence cant justify 3 or 4 hundred dollars on something specific and/or better.

Has anyone tried one of these on their 10's rear rack? What are your thoughts?

for the price, I would make it fit. looks like the plastic/composite mounting plate can be drilled appropriately to mount onto the Yamaha plate... without drilling into the bike part of the equation. I have the JC whitney equivalent, similar mounting problems, 2 years of riding and a few rough knocks and it's doing just fine
