I'm after recommendations of a uk rear wheel builder after needing to buy a new one after an accident.

I have a new rim, hub and spokes but the Yamaha dealer's wheel builder has said he can't do it as the spokes are different lengths and he doesn't know where to start!

Help please!

Have you tried these guys < http://www.central-wheel.co.uk/ > Based in Birmingham, I have seen them at many a Bike Show over the years. Seem to know what they are about.

Personally, on the rare occasions that it was needed, I have always done it DIY. Have you thought about doing the hard bit, then handing over to your dealer's wheel man to finish/true up/tyre fit & balance. Just check out another S10 for the lacing pattern before you start. There are vids on youtube too.

Yeah I think that's what I'm going to have to do, find another S10 and sit next to it copying the wheel spoke setup! Painful, but it'll get my bike back on the road!

The S10 wheel is about as a simple as it gets. I would bet that any pro wheel builder could lace it blindfolded. There are three different length spokes. I would have to go look to be sure, but I think the 18 outer spokes are all the same length and the inner spokes are about three threads different from right to left. Find a pro and they'll have it done in no time.
