Tragically, three bikers were killed in separate incidents in Cumbria this weekend, an English county best known for it's Lake District. It has beautiful scenery, quaint little towns, lots of tight and twisty country lanes and in places, too much traffic. I don't know the exact circumstances, it could just be an unfortunate coincidence, but I wonder whether the winter lay off has played it's part, be it car drivers not being as used to as many bikes about, or riders being a little rusty with their skills. I think terrible news like this should serve as a reminder to us all, to take that extra bit of care as we start riding more, now that spring has arrived.

Its a good and somber reminder. Take extra care out there. Thanks for posting.

This hits home a little with me as I had lost a good friend a year ago around this time as well.

I stopped at what turned out to be a fatal bike crash 11 1/2 months ago, very sad, at first thought it was going to be consoling some poor sod who had smashed his bike up, but it soon became clear things were very serious.

It also really made me think about my complete lack of first aid knowledge, me and the Mrs are booked onto a bike orientated first aid course in a couple of weeks time.

Take care out there everyone ::008::
