Apologies if this has been asked before but didn't spot while browsing.

Has anyone fitted a wider rear tyre (eg 160)?

If so would you recommend it and how did it affect the ride/performance?

P.S. I never go off-road

People have. Depending on the brand, some have needed to make a new drag rod for the brake caliper though.

There's no benefit going to a fatter tyre than the rim width can handle. Because you're pinching the beads to a point narrower than they're meant to, you then tighten the arc of the tread creating a smaller contact patch. ::007::

Yeah, there's like no extra clearance there. Odd. Considering the size tire(s) that Yamaha fitted on the TW 200.

Yeah. I've been doing some reading up on it and what I have read there is no benefit but a slight visual change
