Hi all, just put a deposit down on a 2010 S10 today, just can't wait to get it from the dealer next week after 12K service and stuff!
Can anyone advise over rubber please?
First S10 I rode was fitted with a pair of new Metzler Tourances, dam I was impressed after getting off my 'GS! ::001::
Any how, after testing the one I'm actually buying today, noted front tyre getting low, dealer said N.P. and will fit a new.
Here's the issue, up front Metz Tourance, on the rear Conti Road attack.
He offered either tyre, i decided to go with a new Metz up front with a view to change the Conti when it runs down to the same, just from experience above.
With little knowledge of how this big twin treats the boots, have I made the right choice or should I have a new Conti up front to match the rear?
Any advice appreciated!

Sounds fair to me. I did 12k kms on the rear tourance exp and the front could probably have gone further but I changed both at the same time. Maybe change the conti on the rear when it wears and exchange for a tournace. Cheers

I would have gone with front Conti also, due to Tourances and Trail attacks having considerably different "nature" and grip levels.

I was never too impressed by the Tourance grip levels, and have had Trail attacks for my last two sets.

Also with trail attacks and my riding style i wear out front and back at the same time...

Tarmac only so far Roadsmart 2's have server me best on the S10 (and the GS before)

The Tourance EXP's are pretty good, but the rears go about 20% faster than the Roadsmart 2.

Review wise the Conti Road Attack 2's are very good - right up there with the Roadsmart 2 and PR3, the original Road Attack is nowhere near as good so if going for Conti's look for the 2's - once upon a time Conti's were also good value, but just got a quote for a new set and the price is about the same as the Dunlops now so I am going to fit Roadsmart 2's again.

If you want the "offroad look" Dunlop TR91's are very good by all accounts / reviews.

Congratulations on Tenere ownership.... ::008::

Tell is a little more about how you plan to use the Tenere, that'll be a major factor in selecting the proper tire.
