Greetings from Colorado, Everyone. Test rode a bunch of different bikes last week (BMW GS, V-Strom 1000, Triumph Explorer, KTM Adventure, and the S10) and decided I want the S10 ES. Yesterday when I told my dealer what I decided, I got the bad news that he may not be able to find me a 2014 ES. I thought, "that's crazy" so I did my own research and made a bunch of telephone calls that confirmed what the dealer told me. There is not an ES available in the state of Colorado, nor at dealers in any of the neighboring states that were within a day's drive of here. My salesman is checking to see if he can even order an ES from Yamaha. :( Enjoy your bikes and I hope I get to join your ranks some time this riding season.

Welcome and good luck with your search. It does sound like a perfect excuse for a fly and ride. Many here have used Romney Cycles for a fly and ride purchase.

The Yamaha trucks made it to CO!

On Tuesday, there wasn't a Tenere ES to be had anywhere in the state. Today, two dealers called to say their ES models had been delivered this morning and "are you still interested..."

I paid my deposit today and will be picking up my new bike on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Unfortunately, SWMBO and I have already committed to plans for the weekend that we can't back out of. Otherwise, I'd be picking it up tomorrow and we'd riding all weekend!

Based on what I've read on this forum, my plan is that the S10 will replace both the R1200RT and the V-Strom. The V-Strom will stay in the garage as the backup and guest motorcycle. The RT will go to a good home and help to defray the cost of the S10.

Tuesday is going to take a LONG time to get here...

Hey Front Range, where did you get the bike from?

I'm patiently waiting ( not an easy task) til next spring to get my Tenere, but trying to keep on top of the dealers here in Colorado.

Fremont had the best deals i'd found until Vickory threw up the discounted prices on CL.

i sure wish someone would buy the Gray '14 standard before i have a moment of insanity and pull the pin!

Anyway, congrats, look forward to meeting all the S10 riders here in colo... ::022::

Yup, Bill Vickery owns one. When I bought my Super Tenere he's the one that went over the features with me. Even going over how to properly open the side cases without bending the key….

There is an ES in Fort Collins (Fort Collins Motorsports), I saw it today. They have been using as a demo though, has 92 miles on it right now.

Thanks. I found one and am picking it up on Wednesday. Could not get a ride to Denver sooner than that. And I could not bring myself to drag the motorcycle trailer to Denver to trailer it home.

I love it! Talked the wife into driving me to Denver this morning so was able to pick it up today. The trip home was 74 miles of traffic lights, open rural roads, some interstate and some good twisties. Could not have chosen a better mix of conditions for starting the break-in.

For anyone interested, Vickery has another 2014 ES on the floor and based on the way they treated me, I very highly recommend them. My paperwork was done when I got there, the bike was ready and Josh was ready to talk to me. Took me almost as long to buy oil, gear lube and crush washers as it did to complete the sale. Top notch operation...
