I just ordered the Yamaha trunk for my bike today. I'm bummed that I probably won't see that till May either. Yamaha should have something over here so we can have something under the Christmas tree. I would even settle for a Super Tenere t shirt.

I'm trying to hold off as long as I can to start ordering my goodies. For one, many are not yet available for order (pre-order at most) and secondly - still undecided on a few items and continue to read the various reviews coming from our friends across the pond. For now, I'm pretty well set on the Givi Trekker bags (all three pieces).

:)

I can't seem to find much info on the Givi Trekker cases. Does anyone have a link for info on them? The Givi USA site has nothing.

They also show up on Adventure Motostuff's website, which is probably where I will order mine.

I have an email off to them to verify what sizes come with the 3-pack. I will want 2 of the 46L and one of the 33L for my setup (46L for trunk and RH bag, 33L for LH bag).

I am having mixed emotions Trekkers vs. Pelican cases Caribou mod's. I like the black aspect of the Pelicans over the Trekkers, but like the style of the trekkers style more. I personally don't like the silver as much to be added onto the Black bike!! Hmm, decisions decisions!!!

Although I have not seen the Trekkers in person, my past experience with ALL Givi items has been positive. That said, I cannot say anything negative about the Caribou (Pelican) bags either. I had them on my DL650 and was very pleased. Having seen the "extra" opening option that Givi is using on the Trekkers on some of their other bags, I can see where the feature would be handy at times when only accessing different gloves or something from the bag.

I heard back from Adventure Motostuff. The TRKPACK3 includes (2) TRK33N and (1) TRK46N case, so if anyone intends to use a 46L trunk, they will need to order the separate pieces

did they have any lead times rod?
The racks are in the US all ready and they expect the bags in Jan or Feb. Seem to be good people deal with and I have ordered several times before from them. They are going to email me when the bags/racks/mount are available and I will order the full package from them.

As much as i hate to think about it, the size of pelican cases can't be adapted to the GIVI side racks. Roger with Caribou informs me of this. i don't like to hear this as I am trying to stay as small as possible with these cases this time. Going for the Trekkers makes me feel like I am swallowing a golf ball for some reason. I will probably end up going the trekker.

I don't understand this at all. Roger is using Hepco-Becker racks AFAIK for his setup and I don't see much difference between them and the Givi racks.

In anycase, I'm still on track for the Givi Trekker setup (3 piece). Looks like right at $1200 for the side racks, top case mount, 2 46L bags and one 33L.

Teh Givi Tr33ker looks awesome...

Thing is, I also ride with my wife and even more with my 9 year old daughter. SWM Traxx for example can't be used 2UP or so I've read.

Anyone knows if this happens with other brands?

Colorider, I made a mistake!!!!

I was thinking in my head one thing and typing another. The Pelican's I am talking about are the TOP LOading 1430 side bags, and the 1450 Top Box. It still seems like these two bags should work with his adaptors on them just like anything else. I may call him, instead of just an email. HIs adaptor brackets he is selling are for the 1550 bags and the smallest he said will work is the 1520 bag, which for my thinking is too big still.

I'm still leaning towards the Micatech V2's, but might go with a Givi top case and mounting plate. The Givi is lightweight and I don't like to hang any more weight than I have to past the rear axle. I pack a top case light (sleeping bag, rain suit, etc.), with the heavy stuff (tools), in the bottom of the side cases or strapped across the seat.

The 2UP concern with the SWM has been de-bunked. Their racks are reportedly okay. I'm still leaning towards the Givi racks though unless I read some negatives about them as time gets closer.
