I'm thinking about trading my 2012 Tenere for a 2015 Rocket III X Edition, and I'm not sure if that's a sign of losing my mind or not.
The Triumph comes with 2 yrs unlimited miles factory warranty. The only thing that makes me iffy is the lack of storage and the amount of money required to address that.
Plus, installing saddle bags kinda alters the awesome lines of the Rocket. But if you don't do that you'll keep it as a 2.3 litters coffee bike, not able to go on any long road trips because you're not able to carry anything on the damn thing.
Am I tripping over myself on this one?

I think people start to get into trouble when they try to make a bike something it is not. The Rocket is a a power cruiser, and about the badest-ass of them all really, the X in particular. Hanging bags on it would be like putting aluminum boxes on a Ducati, I mean yes, it can be done but that doesn't mean you should. If that is really what you want to do you likely should be looking at the touring model where the bags come stock & other modifications are made to make it a better distance mount. Really tho, the X is a pure blooded beast, I'd leave it that way or to someone who is looking for that sort of thing.
