How does the S10 handle high speed continuous touring at speeds around 100mph? I’m thinking of taking it down to Spain next year, a trip I normally do on my Zx14r

At 100 mph, the engine is turning around 5000 rpm, which would be around 60/65% of the engine's maximum revs…..it is within the ideal rev range, for riding long distances at sustained speed…..and even 75% of the maximum rev, would be like the upper limit to cruise at sustained speed for a long time... ..and that everything is under control (oil temp, water temp, etc...)

No problem - good for 120 mph 2-up, but runs out of aero after that in my experience.

Now, I don't know when you last visited sunny Spain, but they are a tad more speeding obsessed these days, so watch for a plethora of cameras. Like many other countries in Europe, the EU is pressing them to reduce road casualty rates so cameras are the easy option.

If you did 120mph with me on the back. It’d be the last time. I’ve done it solo a few times. Most I ever squeezed out of mine is an optimistic 130 with a big flat 24” Madstad. May have went a little swoofter. I get nervous after blowing a rear tire on an old Suzuki 750 triple water buffalo doing 70mph.

1200 Tenere could very easily handle 100+ mph for hours. Low speed riding is where the 1200 Tenere engine ain’t so good.

Odd, I 've found it to be the opposite. She can do 100mph for hours . . . . but the mileage tells you she doesn't like it. And, on pavement, on tighter curves I hardly have to shift. She just pulls from apex to apex. And with the engine braking there's a rhythm that starts from curve to curve.

If you're going to do 100mph for periods of time, stick with your Kawi. Right tool for the job.

How does it handle high-speed continuous touring? The answer is Effortlessly! The S10 is very under-stressed and will cope with the trip better than you will and be more economical than your ZX14R too, but with the caveat that Squibb mentioned earlier, there are a lot more cameras in Europe now, they used to be forward facing, ie taking a picture of you approaching a camera, but now they have a whole load of rearward facing cameras, so they get your rear numberplate every time.

Not that I do this very often nor do I really want to but I have rode my bike for probably around 12 to 15 hours at 90 to 95 mph and it was fine. Nothing felt out of sorts and I was quite comfortable. My fuel mileage did drop to around the 41 to 42 miles per gallon. I don't think you will have any issues either. Oh that 90 to 95 was what was on my speedometer. I am not real sure what the exact speed was. So I may be a bit slower than you were wanting to travel.

I've always wound up with a lowered oil level after sustained 80mph + extended runs. Plus gas mileage sucks.

I travel at the speed limit , I tour at a more relaxed speed , and occasionally I bust a ton .
not getting tickets is a good thing . so when riding im at the limit like everyone else ( actually around here im about the only one riding the limit ) adjusting faster or slower by a few MPH to suit traffic flow . but when im exploring or touring ( same thing in my mind ) I rarely break 60 mph . Im riding slow and enjoying the sights . out in west Texas where it's a wide open country and the speed limits are 85 mph , doesn't take much to hit the ton. over 40 mpg most riding over 85 mph its in the 30's . pretty normal .
