What seat do you guys recommend, I like the Idea of supporting Saddles since they are major supporters of Flattrack Racing. But have noticed so many of you have custom formed seats.
Cheers and Thanks for your oppinion.

Thanks for the Recommendations So Far. The Day-Long looks ultra Comfy! No Offense, but Id like a little more Sporty looking aesthetics. Am I asking Too much?

I took an very inexpensive route and am very happy. The stock seat was pretty good but i wanted it to be really good but not have to have a big Harley saddle or beads or lambskin or a custom one made. I opted for a Spencer seat modification. http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php. Make sure you read through his FAQ section http://greatdaytoride.com/FAQ.html

I had him install the Supracor in a Long Distance conversion. I had both the riders and passenger seat done and i think it was all under $100. He cautions it takes a few rides to break it in. It does break in fast and still now after 20,000 plus miles on his seat conversion it still feels great.

He uses your stock seat cover and pan and replaces part of the foam. He is a bit picky about you following his ordering and shipping directions.....so follow directions and you will be happy

I've been happy with a Sargent seat for the last ~ 75k miles.

No not too much to ask, that's why I could never bring myself to buy one either

Call me 'nuther RDL fan. My fanny doesn't much care about how the seat looks - it cares about how it sits. I have a Sargent seat that I bought as a backup while my stock pans were being reworked by Russell, and the difference in pressure between the two cannot be explained in words. There's just no comparison.

It's funny - folk that have never had an RDL always find ways to complain about how it looks. OTOH, I don't know of ANYONE that's ever had an RDL that complained about how it looks - they're too busy riding and being happy. :)

And no - the RDL does not impact my ability to stand up and move around on the seat for sport and off-road riding.

This is one area I wish we could try before we buy. I went with a Corbin. I've had Sargent on my Multi and it was fine. I have a Corbin on my Ducati and it was an improvement. I can go the typical couple hundred mile ride without my butt hurting like the stocker did…

So far the Corbin is good. This weekend will be my first long ride (for me) so we'll see! I'll also admit vanity plays into it as well. I want a comfy seat that also looks good...

They offer a Sport version that is not as wide. At the end of the day, it simply depends on your needs. 1200 mile weekend? 1200 mile days? Or just wanting to be comfortable riding thru a tank of gas? RDL is the best of what you can get for really long days in the saddle, and works just fine for shorter days too, but you may find other things work for you if you're not riding long days. "Good enough" may be all you need, instead of the best solution.

With my Liam seat, 1k days, back-to-back won't be an issue. He's affordable and fast.

I went with the Seat Concepts seat upgrade first. Really enjoyed that seat for over 10k miles. Decided to try a custom seat and went with Laam Custom Seats. Seth is really easy to work with and talks with you on the front end to make sure you get what you need. The quality of the workmanship is fantastic. So far I really like the seat. The real test will be the Arkansas Rally next month.

Obviously, everyone is different and there isn't just one seat for all of us.. But, last month I was able to do several 700-800+ back to back days and one that was just a tad under 1k but it was enough to let me know I could have kept going another week or two at the same pace.

It did take about 2k of riding before it felt like it was broken in to my backside.

Mellow you're right. I will shortly have 2k miles on the new Laam Seat and I can tell it is breaking in really well. Seats are personal choice just like windshields.

Glad this conversation has come up.

I tried the Sargent - immediately pulled it off. Not for me. Though I had a Sargent on my VFR that was all day comfortable.
Currently have Saddleman. Better than the Sargent and slightly better than stock. But after @ 2 hours I get hot spots on my sit (Sitz) bones.
Funny thing is I can ride my road bicycle with a skinny ass seat all day and not have the discomfort I have after 2 hours on the Super Tenere seat.
And I can ride my WR250R all day long on the Seat Concepts modified seat.

Two weeks ago I shipped my stock seats (rider and passenger) to RDL for the full boat. Fingers crossed. Based on the reviews I trust my decision will be rewarded.

As an aside I'm trying to make the Super as comfy as possible for 2 up riding.
Made the mistake of 2 up test riding the big luxo cruisers: GoldWing, Victory Vision and HD Electra Ultra Super Duper Glide. Nancy likes the ride on them much better.
Hoping the RDL, lowered passenger pegs with the FJR floorboards and probably Jesse Top box with back rest will make the Super comfortable for her. Her current limit is @ 90 minutes before she needs a break to stretch her knees and give her a55 a break.
