Touratech - The Best and Worst

I just received the Touratech Catelogue ( BTW - Touratech could lower prices if they went paperless, prices could drop by a dollar an item, and they could save a forest every year)

As I flipped though it I remembered the good and the bad from Touratech

Best Parts ever

Any of their GPS mounts

Large Gas Tanks for KTM and BMW GS

Worse Parts

KTM Large Crash bars that don't fit
Most of their little useless part guards

BMW 1150 GS Adventure rear seat pad that was a sponge

What was your best and worse TT part ?

I like their GPS mounts. Granted they are extremely expensive and complex (ton of parts). The fact that anyone would engineer one of these things to this level intrigues me.

I ordered and received the rear luggage rack and the pillion seat luggage rack. Obviously, can't put them on, yet, but they are well made.

I have to say that I don't like a company that puts out a catalog with no prices listed. My package arrived with a couple of catalogs with loads of cool looking custom parts for many different bikes, but there is no way to determine the prices without looking it up online. It seems like they want the ability to raise prices frequently without having to worry about potential discrepancies in catalogs. After giving it some thought, I just threw out the catalogs. I probably won't order from them again unless I need something that only they produce.

Pity the Canadians.

Touratech USA won't sell to them now that they have set up Touratech Canada with often "significantly higher" prices for the same parts.

Last time I looked the Canuk Buck was higher than the Greenback.

They have an interesting business model.

Do not ask me about Touratech!!! I practically made the company what it is......

I'm going to use the Zega anodized silver side cases and top case. That is about it this go around. I alreday have their GPS mount and LOVE it.

The worst part about Touratech? Easy, the yellow tape on the box when it arrives. A dead giveaway to my wife who just looks at me and then the box, nods her head, and well, you get it.
