I have the world crosser sump guard on my 2013 gen1 XT1200.

I have seen a Touratech sump guard for sale. Problem I have is the part number says it fits 14 on bikes. They do not list a guard for the the gen1 even though they are in all their product video's

I assume the gen 2 sump guard will fit a gen 1 bike ? And is it worth changing from standard guard ?

Unfortunately I don't have time to ask Touratech.

Thanks

I believe you may find the 2014 models have a catalytic converter designed differently so it would affect the fitment between the two bikes..............

Thanks for speedy reply.
I phoned Touratech here in the U.K and they didn't know the answer either. They are going to email next week. Way too late for the sale.

I assumed the exhaust were the same on both models as Arrow does not list them separately. I know they don't have a cat so something else I'm not sure about.

I just bought a gen 2 exhaust to cut up but its going back as it has a few unadvertised gouges.

The Gen2 cat is slightly larger, so the Gen2 plate fits the Gen1, but not vice versa.

I like Touratech stuff and I'm lucky to live 10 miles from their UK base but their stock of S10 bits is virtually nil now, they are happy to place an order which will come from Germany but when I ordered a headlight grill I was told after months of waiting that it was on 'preorder' when they have enough orders to warrant a run they'd produce a batch. I bought some used Zega Pro's and a top box, I had used pannier from this forum but no top box rack, Alfie (Nick Plumbs son) was very honest and said they can wait over a year before starting a production run. I hope you get the answer you need.

Brilliant . Thanks guys for your input.
It's a gen 2 Large sump gaurd he's selling so it looks like it's worth a look.

My previous dealings with Touratech were not good either. I ordered and paid for a screen mount but 3 months later still no stock. I guess you need a GS to buy from stock.

Or an Africa Twin these days!

Good luck with the purchase, I'd be inclined to get it, if it doesn't work out I'm sure it'll sell quickly enough on here!

Another thing worth thinking about for the future is that if by chance you want to fit Arrow headers make sure the Touratech guard fits with them as i've heard Arrow headers don't fit with all makes of sump guard.
