I took a litte ride yesterday to test my GPS mount, the sidestand is indeed a bit iffy. And the front pin is useless, way to close to the peg. I just sweep my foot behind the peg, catch the sidestand, and swing it all the way down. Then tap it with my foot. When the bike is resting on it, I jump off and give it another kick to make sure it's all the way deployed.
