Top End Ticking

So this starts with me tipping the bike over when riding. I was turning left following a car when the woman in front of me jammed on her brakes mid turn for whatever reason, I had to panic stop lost my balance, and well the bike slowly tipped over, the lean angle sensor did it's thing and cut the engine, and I got the bike back up.. No real damage unless you count some scratches on my crashbars.

Anyway, maybe I'm being paranoid but I swear there is now some ticking that I haven't heard before. To me it sounds like valves tapping, but since it wasn't there before (or at least I think so) I want to make sure it's normal.

Here a link for the sound, let me know what you think.

Sounds normal. I'd almost bet my valves are louder than yours.....

34K miles and still going strong here, and mine has been down a number of times in the dirt.

Oh, black semi-gloss spray paint (if you have black bars). BTDT, see above.....

Thanks for the info. I got some flat black rattlecan rustoleum, but that doesn't look right, what brand did you use? They're the AltRider bars.

TBH, it was ticking louder when i first started it after picking it up, but now it seems back to normal. I'll get some semigloss next time I head out to Home Depot.

Rustoleum Satin Black worked for me on my OEM crashbars. Matched the stock paint very well. Flat Black wasn't quite the there.

I just looked, and I have the Rustoleum semi-gloss. You can see a slight gloss over the stock color, although the dirt on mine solves that. I would go for the satin, get rid of the gloss. Get close and you can see the gouging, but that is for stories to tell.

I also have the Alt Rider bars.

When the bike went over you may have 'redistributed' the oil , causing temporarily reduced pressure to the CCT - just like a cold start. Check you oil level when on the main stand 5-10 mins after stopping the engine.
