That is correct, although the Yukon could do it. A TST (Territorial) if you will. As far as I know, the Territories and Alberta are the only jurisdictions that only collect the federal GST. They do not tack a Territorial/Provincial tax on top. Some of the Provinces are pretty rude. They have the HST, or Harmonized Sales Tax, which combines both into one tax. Some of them are a little over the top. If they tried that here, the government of the day would be tarred and feathered. But they make up for it in prices. It's a lose/lose. R

I love how "harmony/harmonize" has become a dirty word. The company I work for bought another company a little while back, and now we are "harmonizing" the two, which in this context is a euphemism for downsizing. Nice.

No kidding. I don't see much harmony about it. It just makes it easier for the government to collect by combining, or "harmonizing" the two. Vermin. Swine. But I say that in the nicest way. R
