Search for tkc70 on here. I have an extensive review. I'm expecting an approximate 8000 mile average.

I bought 3 of the original Attack rears in the last 6 months and one front, as they had extremely good prices after the 2's came out. I now have 3200 miles on this set, which I originally liked lot as far as ride and handling. To my dismay, at 3200 miles, the rear is down to a bit over 2 mm tread left in the center. The new ones have 9 mm, so that is terrible mileage. The front starts out at a bit over 4 mm and now still has a bit over 3 mm, so it is doing fine. I'll put one of my 2 remaining rears on before a trip next month, that will probably be around 3,000 miles, so I'll see how it does. I have a new front 2 for when the Attack 1 I have on now wears out. I'll be interested to hear how the Attack 2 rears work out for those that are trying them or have tried them.

Good thing the original 1 rears were such good prices (2@ $119 each delivered and 1 Black Friday special for $80 delivered) because it sure doesn't appear that they are going to last very long.

I got about 7500 miles on a set of Trail Attack II's and almost 9000 on Anakee III's.

Well here it is September and I've only put 5,000 miles on the Super T since March! I would say that is a real bummer but I was lucky enough to get to ride, what we call an FJ09 here, for 20 days in the Alps. The trip/ride of a life time. AMAZING! Bagged as many passes as we could in the 20 days... not a tour a fly rent and ride! BTW: I love the FJ09 and would love to have one here but there in the tight Alps it was a scalpel... the perfect bike.

Anyway back to the Trail Attack 2's on my T. I was never really happy with the on road. They just didn't inspire confidence in them. The off road... well I'm a gravel rider no dirt bike as a kid so only easy gravel for me. They seemed just OK. As a comparison I LOVED the original Tourance tires the ones made in Germany NOT the ones you get now made in China. They were, for me, fantastic on the road 0 to 1/8th inch chicken strip. And for me they really felt planted on the gravel.

I may be able to squeeze another 1,000 out of the Trail Attack 2's but just don't really want to... I don't like them for me and won't buy them again.

I have a friend on a GSW, I know I shouldn't let friends ride them, and he has been running a set of the TKC70's and is very complimentary of them. So with that an some reading here I'm ordering a set of TKC 70's and hope I don't get the front cupping I've been reading about here.

Thanks

I've never had TKC 70's on any of my bikes but have run two sets of Trail Attack 2's on my S10. I managed around 6.5k before both rear tyres squared off enough to make the handling go off. The front tyres on mine have lasted long enough to see out a pair of rears too. I find them very grippy and confidence inspiring in both dry and wet conditions. The only quibbles that I have about them is that the front tyre squirms a little on tarmac overbanding in the wet and the back tyre sends an increasing amount of vibration through the bike when leaning over, as it starts to square off. Otherwise, i'm well chuffed with them. ::008::

One thing I didn't mention is that I run stock tire pressures 33 lbs front 36 lbs rear. I ride 99.9% solo and am 5'9" and weigh 220 WITH all my riding rear and I ride ATGATT.

Thanks

Mikeybikey57 tell what pressure you have been running in your Trail Attack 2's.

Hi Brick,

The stock pressures you mention above are for loads of 198 pounds or less. Above 198 pounds, they still specify 33 in front, but the rear goes up to 42 psi, which is what I run. I don't quite weigh 198 (yet), but with riding gear and even with empty luggage, it is over that.

In my previous post above, I mentioned that I got terrible mileage out of my first Trail Attack 1 rear, changing it at 3400 miles. There must have been a defect in that tire, as I just changed the second TA 1 rear at a bit over 6,000 miles. It still was not down to the wear bars, but I plan on leaving on a trip of over 2,000 miles soon, so changed both to the new TA 2's. The first TA 1 front was good for almost 10,000 miles.

In my case, I liked the handling of the TA 1's better than my original BW's. I rode over 2,000 miles of AR twisties last Oct at the rally and they were very confidence inspiring for me. We did a bit of unpaved "road" while there as well as at STAR this June and when running in TCS2, they felt great to me.

I have run several pairs of BW's on my 12 and the original set on my 14 and while I did like them, I think I will spend the bit of extra $$ as they felt marginally better to me.

I'm 6'0" and weigh in at 200lbs in my birthday suit, so with with my riding kit on i'd probably end up loading something like 220-225lbs onto the bike. Like fredz43, I run my Trail Attacks at 42psi rear and 33psi in the front too.

TKC70s on mine...4000 miles so far and at least the same remaining,

They are a great tyre for road use with good wet weather performance and quick warm up, they stick in the dry too.

Id replace mine with the same again, no question.

I don't ride off road so cannot comment on their performance in that respect

Hi Fred,
Ok, got it... I'll up the rear and see how the remaining tire functions.
Thanks
