Thanks, Rocky's was on the list (Taggerts is in Iowa) and I got the one in Edson.

I kind of hi-jacked the thread...so everyone else please go one with tire suggestions, I am certainly in the market.

Good catch on Iowa. We humans suck at coming up with unique names for cities. :D

I just put a set of PR4s on, front trail, rear normal... Take a deep breath, it's ok I'm a poser so no dirt for me unless it's an accidental turn following the gps.

Scotty from Florida runs PR4s as full trail tires and does just fine.

Do yourself a favor, and try the Shinko 705's, one time. They're about $150 a set, wear reasonably well, are great on dry or wet pavement, and good on a gravel road. I admit that I wouldn't have ever tried them, except that my used bike came with a brand new unmounted front 705, so I figured what the heck, I'll give 'em a shot. I'm glad I did, as they are excellent. Ans did I mention that they're $150/set?

I had the Shinko 705's and when I replaced them, I went to the Mitas E07 Dakar's. I love these tires. They are priced in between the Shinko's and Heidenau's am getting great wear out of them. With mostly street riding on them right now, they don't show much wear even after 6k.

Where did you buy your E07 Dakars?

Twisted Throttle, Revzilla and moto_race on Ebay are the best sources. TT is typically the cheapest for me after taking into consideration the "points" you earn giving you 5% off your next purchase.

+1 Metzler Tourance. Liked them enough from new/stock in 2012 to put on another set. Very good road manners (especially in rain), yet enough grip for careful gravel/dirt road exploring. Replaced both sets around 7,500-8,000 of moderately aggressive riding, nearly all one-up, but with some significant touring miles put in. [I'm 180lbs]. They never let me down and were predictable, HUGE in my book.

As I do 95% of my mileage on the road I am running Michelin Road 4 Trail tyres and so far very happy with them.
Great tyre. Wears out too fast in the US with our higher temps and courser pavements, especially in the Western US. 6800 mi for the rear to cords. And I'm not typically hard on tires.

Based on Eric V and others I tried Heidenau K60 on mine. Liked them. I am out on a 2 month ride about right now and spooned on the PR4 Trails in Richmond VA as I knew I would be exclusively pavement for a few thousand miles. The bike likes them, I did thousands of miles at high temps, 106 in TX and NM, 104 and up in CA (In the parks it was stop and go so my bike readout was hot soaking). I have 6400 miles on them and hoping they will take me home. I figure I have 2300 miles or so to go, I'll be watching close as I will be in very sparsely populated area's (people and shops) the rest of the trip.

I shipped my K60's home, they have a couple thousand left in them. I did an IBA 50CC in the idle of my ride and could not take a chance on tires in the middle of that, not enough time.

And I'll either go K60's again or Mitas E07 when I rplace the PR4's assuming I get home and don't have to settle for what is available. The K60's are long lived. I don't have issues in the rain, and who cares if the TCS light goes ape? That is what it is for!

If it aint raining, I am going to give the PR4's a go at MT 38 and Shalkaho pas a run. It's is not paved in the middle. Saw some pics on the other forum and think I need to go there.

So your TCS light is going crazy because you tires are constantly breaking loose in the rain? That's a tough pill to swallow, knowingly giving up safety to gain tire life. What is your TCS fails? Nanny controls are nice to have for emergencies but I wouldn't want to rely on them to keep me upright for everyday use.
