I don't understand why everyone is suggesting aftermarket product to fix this guy's issue. He seems to have it completely under control with a little ingenuity.

What did we all turn into BMW owners over night? :'(

Happened to me once. However, I was lucky and I got free in time.

It is now phobic reaction to make sure that my pant leg is free before I come to a stop.

I had that happen to me once. Stil thinking about getting pair of AltRider thingies, but I am broke. $120 bucks for something, that should cost $20 at max is not helping ether. For now I use military blousing straps and they do just fine. They do double duty and keep cold air out too. Win win. Try them. Very cheap, just like me :)

If the KLR owner in you is too strong to buy the AltRider ones, which are closed at the top, unlike the Touratech ones, then go get some aluminum sheet from Home Despot or Ace and make up your own. It wouldn't have to as fancy as the AltRider ones, but that concept of up and angle in, then over to bolt down or hook over another piece could be made with a few simple bends. A small bench vice and a rubber mallet, plus a hand drill and some aviation snips and you could do your own cheap. Spray them black and ride on.
