Last week I was riding in Arizona by myself and pulled to the side of the gravel road to take a picture. There was absolutely no reason to pull over as I had seen 2-3 vehicles in the last hour or so. However I did and the soft shoulder gave way and my tires sunk. Fortunately a couple guys on a GS and a Tiger cane by and got me back on hard road.

I am almost 70 and don’t have the strength to pick up and manhandle the 10 like I did in 2014. The wife and I are also looking at a toy hauler with a tiny garage. Will only hold one bike. Back in 2014 when I got the 10 my wife sat on it once in the garage and looked me in the eye. “I sat on it. Never ask again. If you want me to ride we ride that!” She pointed at the Stratoliner.

So the Stratoliner-Indian Roadmaster-Venture is the bike to keep for marital harmony. Also while the Tenere WAS my solo go to bike that changed with the venture. While I don’t see any future runs to an ocean from Iowa, the next like the last would be on the Venture.

Right now I am in Iowa but the bikes are at Ft Huachuca Arizona. We will be back the first week of March and start heading back to Iowa before the end of March.

This is not intended to be a formal For Sale post but Kelly Blue Book says a 2014 ES is worth $8100-10500. Mine needs tires but is otherwise sound. Tabasco checked the valves and lowered it an inch 15,000 miles ago. It HAS been down and is scratched. It could go to someone here for $8500. PM me if at all interested.

Once I get back to the bike, and probably get it back to Iowa I will post a formal For Sale post.

Sorry to hear your Selling your Tenere.
But at 69 I probably won’t be far behind you, the Tenere is just to tall and top heavy.

@bigbob please send me some pictures when you get the bike back from AZ. Iowa is definitely closer to me than all of the great deals that pop up in California, Florida, and Texas. Does your bike have any luggage?

Actually posted this just in case somebody in the SW US was interested. In Arizon now but will pass through New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma pan handles, Kansas and NE Missouri on the way home in March.

When back in Iowa I will post a formal for sale with full details and pictures.

I was going to tell you that before selling it, you will lower the suspension a bit (to be more comfortable), but I see that you already did it

Thanks for the ride. Maybe one last one March 5-6. We leave DSM on 3rd and Ft Huachuca on 7th heading back Toward Iowa.
We are in Iowa now, as my mom passed, heading back to AZ tomorrow night. 4 March we head to HI to see my son's family one last time before they leave PHH, so not looking good for another ride. Maybe next year!

The toys come and go but the friendships live on.
+1

To paraphrase The Eagles, you can sell your Tenere any time you like, but you can never leave (this board).

Too many long term relationships at this point. You're stuck here.

So if I read your OP correctly, you're selling the S10 and keeping your Stratoliner? What a funny world we live in. I sold my Roadliner (with full batwing fairing and luggage ala Stratoliner) so that I could pick up my S10. I see why your wife prefers the Strat, but that bike was just not very comfortable to me. Glad you'll at least still be on two wheels. Too many folks I know have walked away from riding all together.

Actually had the show bike Strat when I bought the S10. Got tired of it having to be spotless to go to a bike night and traded for an Indian Roadmaster (party because the back seat was “better”). That lasted 2 years until we test rode the Yamaha Venture. Will keep the Venture partly because it will fit this garage.
