So my left leg gear got caught up today on the OEM universal joint guard. I was expecting it and so I was checking my leg every time I came to a stop. It caught up just for a sec but was bit scary.

So it's time to get my first accessory - the universal guard. So do I have to install it on both sides? Or just the left side is good?

Thanks

I just took my guard off, I have had it off for awhile and nothing rubs on it and to me it looks better and easy to clean.
By taking it off I noticed how loose fit the boot is, I can see over time dirt and liquid getting in so i zip tied both ends..

With crash bars and bags the odds of taking a direct hit is one out of a million besides i think it's there for your foot and I never see my foot even close to the boot.. Someone will chime in about UV deterioration.
That's just my opinion about it. 8)
