Hi guys,

I am installing my Touratech crash bars and this involves loosening the main cross-bolt that is hidden behind the rubber bungs on the frame and replacing the original nut with a longer one. Can anyone confirm the original torque setting for this fastener please? The generic instructions from Touratech are ok but give no specific value for this, and i like to get these things correct. Also I am guessing some locking compound would be sensible?

I will buy myself the workshop manual from the local dealer for future reference, but as I am heading off to Germany in a week and my bike is now in pieces I could do with a hand!

Regards,

Matt

Hi Steve,

Many thanks for your help. Really appreciated.

I used to live in Braintree, and still only about 10 miles away now. If you do get over here let me know and we can meet up. Always good to meet new people and offer a beer or three!

Regards,

Matt
