All,

I want to take a moment to offer some feedback on the Sargent seat for the Super Tenere now that I've put about a 1200+/miles on it. I owned a 2013 Super Tenere and now own a 2014 Super Tenere ES (replacement). I had a Corbin (driver seat only) on my 2013 and I'll be honest, I was unimpressed and didn't feel like it was much more comfortable than stock (for me at least). I know that seats are very personal and what I may hate someone else may love, but I definitely did not like it.

Recently I bought the driver and passenger Sargent seats for my 2014 Super Tenere and I could not be happier if I wished for it. This seat is SO much more comfortable than stock and I absolutely find the shape to be so much better for long distance riding - I must also mention it is light years better than the Corbin I had on my 2013. I can move around on it, yet it still has a sweet spot that I fall back into which offers excellent support all over. My girlfriend absolutely loves the rear seat too and on a recent 500/mile two up trip she never complained one bit, but she initially would complain after only about 50-70/miles on the stock seat.

The build quality is fantastic and I couldn't think of anything they could improve upon...from the seat cover material and fit, to the pan, etc....it's all excellent. I must also note that I ordered the seat direct from Sargent. I initially was going to order online with a slight discount (10%), but after receiving such excellent advise and help on the phone with Sargent directly I could not help but to in turn provide them my business directly.

I strongly recommend this seat to anyone that is looking to upgrade. This seat transformed the motorcycle to me and it now has that "home" feeling when you climb back on it throughout the day. I actually look forward to getting back on it after fueling up whereas I would have rather taken a beating from Mike Tyson than get back on the stock seat when refueling.

To each their own, but that's my 2 cents!

BTW, for what it's worth, I'm 5'9", 30" inseam and 180 lbs.

I have about 20+ Km on my version one sargent.

I'm still not 100% smitten by it.
yes i like the dished shape of it, but it's the harness that doesn't appel to me

(and I have tried the corbin on my tenere, and didn't like it, even though I loved my vstrom corbin seat).

i have since resigned myself to putting an airhawk whoopie cushion on the sargent, and things are happy.
I may even try to go back to oem with whoopie in place to see how that treats me.

again, all personal preference really..

They are a great company! The Tenere on there sales site is mine :) but unfortunately I can't use the seat. The gen1 seat is just so hard it hurt my back and bum.

I had a Gen. II and it didn't work for me. I think they're made with bigger riders in mind because the comfortable dished out section forced me to sit too far back from the handlebars and when I tried to sit more forward the hump made it extremely uncomfortable. I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam.

The only negative thing I can say about my Gen - 2 Sargent is that it is very slippery, especially when I'm wearing my Motoport Kevlar pants, which is most of the time. Hard braking sends me right into the tank - ouch!

Glad to hear your happy with the seat! ::008::
My Sargent put a big smile on my face because it simply disappears and don't know it's there when set to the high position, in the low position, not so much.
I used many Sargent seat over the past 20 years, they're my "go to" seat guys and Madstad is my "go to" windscreen guy. Both offer great products and customer service, and will work with you until your happy.

Last spring, on the first day of a 3 week trip, I stopped by their shop and they built me a custom seat for my BMW R12R. They re-contoured the seat three time until it was a perfect fit, that's customer service as it should be!

Coastie, did you try the Gen II?

Did not try the Gen II as I have a heated Corbin, that is not great, but ok. So I live with it.

Thanks for sharing your feedback (and personal dimensions). I may have to try the sargent seat. Got several long road trips coming up. I know where I can order one and, if I don't like, I can always return it.
