so the past few days I'm crushing down a country road and the bike starts jolting. it as if I'm at cruse speed and barley on the throttle and its a the idle then slight twist to be at crusing speed but keeps backing off causing the bike to jolt. of throttle is closed then slight twist to keep a steady pace but closed, throttle, closed, throttle, closed, throttle, closed, throttle. any ideas?

turn off the traction control. Maybe the wheel is spinning and trying to slow you down. :)

Are you in T or S? Sometimes on dirt when riding in S mode, mine does that. I switch to T and it smooths out.

t/c light is not coming on. when i go to t mode it gets worse. but i will turn off the t/c. I'm now looking at ecu flash to see if that will do it.

I doubt it's an ecu problem. Always go back to the last thing that was done to the bike before the problem flared up. If it's out of the blue, no fiddling having been done in the last month or three, you're going to have to track down the failure, or pay the shop, or hopefully have some warranty left.
With internal combustion, always remember the Fire Triangle; Air, Fuel, Fire and their infinite variables.

Are you referring to the lean surge that happens on some bikes at around 2000 RPM's ?

I'm at 40-60 cruising back roads so i drop a gear to see if higher rps fixed and it didn't. I'm at the point in the turn of the throttle where its almost closed so its bumping from no fuel to fuel. kinda wish it was carbed

Sounds like fuel injectors cut off to me, that is what I'm hoping to fix with the FT ECU software, it allows the throttle blades adjustments as well.... and more, do a search...
Cheers

I figured it out. It's crap gas. I got a bad batch of super in Lambertville N.J. From Sunoco. Ran about 4-5 tanks since and problem is gone.

Ok found the issue. It want the fuel. The throttle body's needed to be synced. I'm on a trip for 2 weeks and riding 2up. Drove me nuts, long story short stopped at the Yamaha dealer in Asheville NC, otd fixed 1 hour of shop time. Here is a great write up on it.http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=1973.255
