Good evening from East TN. I have read a number of posts on this forum about Throttle Body Sync. My bike is a 2014 ES. I think I have read that I was supposed to do this TBS at 4000 miles, but I'm at 12K and have not done it yet. I do not have the confidence to undertake this myself, so I'm wondering if there is anyone on the forum who knows how to do this, likes to do this, doesn't mind me watching and or helping, is not too far from Knoxville, and does not charge an arm and a leg to do this. Any help or guidance, I would appreciate. Thank you.

Hi Eric. I just did this on my 2014 and it turned out not to be a big deal at all. I even made my own manometer out of 20' of vinyl tubing from Home Depot, a dog eared picket, some zip ties, and transmission fluid. Worked great! Got everything needed to make connecting to the bike from AutoZone. The tank lifts very easily to get to everything. PM me your number and we can talk about it if you want.

Do you have photos of your manometer and accessories?

These photos are a place I stayed at temporarily, a few years ago.

You will need a couple of plastic barbs from the auto parts store or Home Depot to T off the tubing at the throttle bodies. I don't remember the sizes. Then buy 20 ft of tubing from Home Depot to connect the barbs.

Fold the 20 ft of tubing in half and use a marker to mark the mid-length of the tube. You want that to be the low spot and when I did it the time used in these photos I wrapped a piece of wire at that point then used a pair of vice grips as a weight.
Any colored fluid works, trans fluid, coolant, etc.

I used another pair of vice grips to pinch two scraps of wood together to evenly close the two hanging tubes until after the engine was running.

Don't do this in a closed garage, as you can asphyxiate yourself.

Eric-

I am in Asheville and just lucked into scoring a Grok Harmonizer off the ADVrider fleabay forum. I am planning to do my throttle body sync at some point here soon. If you wanna make the trip over the mountain sometime, we can figure it out together. I have the service manual as well as the tutorial here from the forum bookmarked, so it should not be too big a deal.

Grndlb, thank you for the offer of phone assistance. I think I will get together with Trikepilot in Asheville to do this, since he is just over the mountains from me. Thank you both.
