I just put my money down on a 2014 ES, and man do I love that feeling of knowing that in about two to three weeks I will be laying eyes on my new best friend. I feel like I am 10 years old on Christmas morning. Of course I still have about 3 feet of snow in my back yard here in Canada, but spring is in the air.

That's a lot of bike to keep in the barn for the long winter months.
I don't know how you guys do it.

But looks like you are shootin for perfect timing. :)

Welcome on, MB. Always good to take in a few more Canucks. When you get the chance, please post under Member Intros so you don't get overlooked as a new Forum member. I hear you about the snow. Won't be long. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

We ride like hell while we can. I still put in about 25,000 miles a year, between commuting and bike trips. That's a lot of good times, and it keeps me going for the winter.

Congrats on the new bike. Be sure to post your thoughts on the bike after you've had a chance to put some miles on it.

I will give a full report once I put some time in the saddle, but for now this what I have ordered for her.

The dealer is supplying OEM side cases, the headlight guard and is swapping out the stock tires for a set of Heidenau K60's. I had these tires on my GS and they were good on and off the road. I have also ordered a skid plate and crash bars from AltRider. Now, I am searching for a lockable GPS mount for my Garmin 660 and some auxiliary lighting. The lighting is a must have in our area, lots of deer, fog and people with limited attention spans. I know my HID's have saved me more then once, on my early morning runs to work.

You can't have a new girlfriend and not get her a little something, even if its for yourself. ;)

P.S. Thanks for all the comments. Long live Yamaha ::022::

I know exactly what you are feeling, I put my money down about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I can't wait for the call! I, however, have my 2012 that I am still riding AND the weather down here in Western North Carolina is well much better than what you are experiencing! ::008:: ::015::

I basically park the car for the summer, and I have a long commute to work, that's why the BMW GS had to go. The maintenance was draining my bank account. I had two major services in one year at $800 plus and tires and oil etc, etc. The FJR solved the maintenance issue but I missed the go anywhere ability of the GS. So a Super Tenere is what you get when you cross a Yamaha FJR with a BMW GS.

Maybe we could meet up for a ride sometime, I pass through Montreal a couple of times a summer on my way to visit friends in Sutton.
