Why didn't you just walk into the dealership and buy one off the floor?
I've had mine for two weeks now...

I know that you are joking (at least I hope that you are). I am getting the very 1st one to the Las Cruces/El Paso area.XtreemLee said:Why didn't you just walk into the dealership and buy one off the floor?

The money that was given to them is also for all of the accessories that I purchased. I did not buy a YES warranty as I had used a 3rd party provider for YES when buying my Vmax. The deal was pretty good as I got it for $1600.00 below MSRP because I searched the interwebs and found one one sale in Indiana for that price and they matched it. I looked up the Yami accessories that I wanted from Yamaha Sports Plaza and Stadium Yamaha online and they matched those prices too. This part of the deal was fine.tomatocity said:Lee... no reason to wind your clock too tight. You can bet anything told to you by a salesperson is not the complete truth. Why did you give them thousands of dollars? $500 should have been sufficient for a commitment. Also... hope you did not buy YES fro your dealer. Most likely there are other dealer that will sell you YES for much less. If you did pay for YES, find the lesser price and have them match that price. Worked for me with my 2012. Also establish (with the dealership owner) a 20% or more discount for any OEM parts you need to purchase.
Sounds like you have your bases covered. Good job. One thing you won't be spending money on is Suspension... about $2000 for top of the line. That is a lot of accessories.Gen2S10 said:The money that was given to them is also for all of the accessories that I purchased. Just that "Nothing" call yesterday... Beer made it better.

I'm in the car biz (service side) for 15 years now - this makes me laugh because I can't tell you how many times I've been bitched at over the years for: 1) calling customers too much. Or 2) not calling customers enough.Gen2S10 said:So the dealership salesdork calls me today. I was in the car on the way to Lowes to get something. The conversation went something like this: dork - "How are you doing today." Me - "I am fine and will be better if you are calling to tell me my Super Tenere is here." dork - "Oh no it isn't here yet. I do not know when it will get here. I just was checking in to let you know we hadn't forgotten about you." naturally this made me really angry. Me (in an elevated volume of speaking) - "Do not call me again to ask how I am unless my motorcycle is sitting in your shop! I cannot believe for one second that you do not know how or cannot trace an order!" dork - "I will get with the sales manager and see if there is a way to track your motorcycle." Me - "You do that!" *click*
Now, a few hours later, I am still baffled about this phone call. Why did he think it was necessary to call me to say they had not forgotten me? I would hope that since I gave them several thousand dollars to order a new motorcycle that they would not forget me. I have only lived in the US again for less than 2 years after nearly 25 years in Europe. Is this what customer service is now? "Hi, I just called to tell you that your order still isn't here"
