They are a popular bike in the UK (MT07 here) and get some great reviews, i think Yamaha have hit a winner with this one. But when is the dirt version coming out ?

Who knows. I considered the FJ-09 (mT-09 Tracer) but it's too much money for a commuter, and what basically is a lighter tenere 1200.
Not sure, I think we're beating a dead horse here. Currently suzuki only offer a dual purpose in a smaller 650cc bike. Neither Honda (teaser only) or kwaki (versys=road only) have anything.
Maybe yamaha don't see or feel there's a market for the smaller parrallel twin motor to be used in a dp bike.

I would be hard pressed to sell the Sup T, to down grade to a 650. Yes it would be lighter, but I don't do single track, just long distances over gravel and pavement, and the big pig eats it up without issue

I had a Moto Guzzi Stelvio for three years and then went 'down' to a 650 V-Strom, I only lasted 9 moths before I missed the CC's and ended up with an S10. Once you've had the 'cubes' it's hard to go back !

agreed. The Sup t is plenty able on gravel, and a blast to ride fast. Once loaded up, it never notices the extra weight on it.
