Hi guys,
Today I have applied for a membership to this Super Teneré forum as I recently have bought a new XT1200Z.
My name is Michiel which is Dutch for Mike or Michael, so I’m Dutch and I live in the Eastern part of The Netherlands.
My nickname is MAD, which are my initials. Furthermore, I’m 66 years young and I’ve been driving motorbikes since I was eighteen.
A small collection of the bikes I have owned over all those years: Ducati Monza 160; BMW R51/3; Ariel NH; BSA B31; Triumph T21; Honda CB450K5; Honda CB750K0; Honda CB900FZ; Suzuki GS1000G; BMW K100; BMW K100RS (2x); Honda ST1100; BMW R1150GS (2x); BMW R1200GSA; BMW R1150RT and now my XT1200Z.
I have thought of buying another GS (LC), but the unconfirmed info of unreliability and high costs of maintenance, which I hear from various sources (my opinion), opted me to take a test drive on a SE and I was sold, so here I am !!
Kind regards
Mike / Michiel

::004:: from London, Canada, Michiel! I have a good friend named Albert who lives in Garmerwolde. It looks like he is about 200 km. north of you. He has a 660 Tenere, and did have a Triumph Tiger 1050, but recently sold it. Enjoy your Super Tenere! I am sure you will have a great time with it.
Cheers,
Bruce

Welcome from the UK.

Us older Brits usually get to Arnhem/surroundings at some stage of our existence, if only to put some flesh on the bones of our understanding of 'Operation Market Garden' & the over ambition of it all.

We get across to Holland most years, as we like the Harwich-Hoek V.H. overnight Ferry crossing, which allows us to pitch up in NL at breakfast time, so gets us an early start on the road wherever we plan to go in Europe. Stayed at the Van der Valk at Duiven, just down the road from you a few years back - quirky modern, very comfortable.

Enjoy the new S10 - there is plenty of information/good advice on here.

Guys, thanks for your warm welcome!!
Hope to pick all your brains on the do's and don'ts on the SE and I will pitch in as well to share anything worth sharing.
In winter time, I will start modifying a couple of things and will let you know as I go along.
First I need to know my way around here.
Take care
Mike
