WV is starting to get colorful. Spent some time around Dolly Sods and Rt 72 today. A few trees are already at peak, but many more still waiting.

October is a great time to ride WV.

Great pics! The wife and I were just talking about the leaves starting to change color. We decided to do a 2 day hike the weekend after the Falling Leaf rally to get out and enjoy the change. Have not decided where we are going yet.

Wish we had trees... We have desert. Brown all year long and always looks the same.

On the plus side though... Roads, trails or paths not necessary.

I was on Dolly sods and rt. 72 saturday also but I never saw another motorcycle either place. Dolly sods had more traffic than downtown Elkins and they are just getting the Forrest Festival started. I tryed most of the side roads off 72 and discovered I like it a lot more taking the River RD short-cut. More senery and safer. Skips all that sand on tight curves bs. Ever notice how you can ride dirt and gravel all day without a pucker but hit one little patch of sand or dirt on the hardtop and its pucker up. At least for me.

Just missed you by a few hours. Yesterday was just a quick 280 mile day ride. Dolly Sods was fairly busy from the top to the bottom on the west side. Not so bad on the east.

The only side road I've taken from 72 is Blackwater Ridge Canyon Road (video). That was pretty fun, even though I was loaded down with camping gear. I've done some other fantastic roads nearby, but wouldn't call them "off" Rt 72.

Was in that area last weekend. Made for a 600 mile ride home to SC on Sunday.

These dudes held us up for 15 miles or so.
