That's a good time of the year, and a good part of the state. Going further South gets even better; Kerrville and the Twisted Sisters. Inks Lake State Park is close to where this is happening. It has campsites and cabins with a/c. It's a great park; beautiful.

I will be there (its on my calendar ) ... but in my car (wife is coming with me )... my neighbor is giving a presentation at some point that day (should be interesting) ... hopefully the weather will be nice(its central Texas in the early spring , could 40 0r 90 ) ... fingers crossed.

That's a pretty accurate weather forecast.

There's not a lot of roads out there that'll disappoint. My boys and I left westbound out of Kerrville and picked up TX-39 and took it to US-89. It crisscrosses the Guadalupe River for quite a while. When you get to US-89, take a left to Leaky. That's the bottom right corner of the Sisters. That trip was when I realized that the Tenere was not what I had expected. With the preload cranked up, I never touched a peg but had zero chicken strips while trying to keep up with my oldest kid on his R6. My FJR kid just followed behind and enjoyed the scenery.

if one is going to ride the sisters then camping at Garner State Park at Concan Texas is a must . Leaky Texas is the spot where two of the sisters meet , places to eat and stay if you cant get a spot at the park. check it out.

I've only passed through that area once, heading east on I-10. I remember passing through Kerrville and thinking, "Wait, what, this is Texas? Holy shit, this is beautiful." Are there any dirt routes in central Texas I should seek out?

Yeah, I couldn't respond to your message. It said something like "Message Closed" or something similar.

I'm heading out this afternoon for Texas. I will be on the lookout for other Super Tenere riders. Hopefully, I won't be the only one of us at the event.
